This one was brutal! Again, the USB keyboard is not functional - USB mouse
is. I proceeded with the usual...
When asked for the root password, I could not enter one because the kybd was
not functioning. However, this time, my usual method was derailed, as there
was NO 'skip' button. So I selected the next install tasks one by one and
finished the install. Then, I rebooted to console. Tried to change the
password (keyboard works now...) and authentication says there is no user
named 'root'. Also, after inspecting the boot log, /etc/init.d/usb script
failed due to 'command missing'. I ran the script manually, the usbfs was
brought up and everything was fine?! Curious. Ran drakconf to bring up the
mouse. Startx into KDE--> LinuxConf, and added a user for myself. Set the
password - authentication (PAM) wouldn't set it. Any ideas on where to look
for this problem?
Could the authentication not have been setup correctly due to NOT entering
in a root password during the install (remember, the kybd wasn't functional
then...).
