I have been using XOSL for a long time now and I'm quite happy with it. I've got 3 HDs: hda, hde & hdg. hde & hdg are on a Promise Ultra100TX2 controller. These 2 HDs never show up in XOSL, I have to make sure my /boot is on hda. As per XOSL getting screwed by Windows reinstall, I've solved the pbm by installing XOSL on its own private fat partition (few MBs at the beginning of hda).
I agree on the Ranish Partition Manager, is saved my life too a couple of times :) /Fred On Fri, 2002-09-27 at 19:47, Ron Stodden wrote: > Ron Stodden wrote: > > > I use xosl all the time on all the machines I maintain and highly > > recommend it, although further development on it has stopped. > > > > To use it with lilo, you must set the initial boot line in > > /etc/lilo.conf to the install partition, that's all! > > > > lilo still shows its menu of what to run, but not always with 9.0 > > > > If you do a Windows reinstall you must set up xosl again, but that's easy. > > Also: > 1.
