Mandrake doesn't write the drivers - they use open source gatos drivers, it's these ati.2 gatos drivers that are the cause of this. I'd be willing to bet 3d acceleration doesn't work with redhat and this card. That's the trade off, use gatos dri and switching to X from virtual console or full screen vmware will kill X. Use standard ati drivers and don't have 3d, but have the ability to switch virt consoles/X. If 3d accelleration is working with redhat, I would like to know what they are using. -- Jason Straight
