It's not encouraging. It's a strongarm tactic. Unfortunately, you get
into the issue that in a heterogeneous environment, you need
compatibility. There are plenty of applications out there from some big
vendors (as well as crap written in house), that don't support SSH.
So, do I maintain, and document my own set of RPMs for those boxes?
Keeping in mind that I still have to live with PHB's who prefer (nay,
insist) that it comes out of the box and from the vendor. Or do I
install Redhat on these boxes?
