I don't see the secrecy... it's a hit and miss thing, at the best of 
times.  Someone may have stats on this, although I doubt it.  
Personally, I'm interested in getting this sort of data and cleaning up 
the mirrors list on MandrakeSecure for updates... I have not the time 
to do this for the major list of mirrors.  Most of these mirrors, 
AFAIK, approach us and tell us that they're mirroring.. they're under 
no obligation to do so.  Of course, when they decide to stop mirroring, 
I'm pretty sure that they *don't* tell us this.  They also don't, I 
suspect, tell us how often they mirror or which site they are mirroring 
from.  It would be nice if they did.

You can point the finger and the blame at MandrakeSoft all you like... 
the reality is we have absolutely no control over what these mirrors do 
(or don't do).
