No, only if you got the name correct and the app is in the distro.

There are various reasons why such a feature would be handy:
Suppose I am looking for an MTA. I type MTA in the search window (for
descriptions). I want 1) to know whether one is already installed
2) if not I want to get a list of available MTA's.
IMO it is annoying that you have to run 2 programs to do this. It seems not
very userfriendly.
