Docs are outdated, I believe this was quite a recent change and most of the docs I can find are quite old. I agree ACPI seems flaky, but then, this is the development tree! If we want ACPI to be in and solid, it has to start off by being in and flaky =) > acpid looks for the rules in /etc/acpi/events and fails to start > because this folder does not exist.
