Well, haven't tried with this card (think I have a similar one somewere) but the message essentially means that the OSS emulation for that device is not loaded.
AFAIK about this: Actually, OSS emulaton modules should be loaded automatically when you try to access the mixer device (play <filename). But perhaps something goes wrong. Can you check if snd-mixer-oss gets loaded? You could try manually loading it.
