No, the reason that it's failing now is because the setting of true is
what is in the global macros. This function has always been there, just
disabled by default. Now it's enabled. Maybe I'm in the minority, but
I think it was a good idea for the short term. I'm willing to go with
whatever the developers decide is good for long term.

[todd@fiji ~]$ grep unpackaged_files_terminate /usr/lib/rpm/macros
%_unpackaged_files_terminate_build 1

I also agree it is a very bad idea to change it in your
/usr/lib/rpm/macros or in your ~/.rpmmacros because when someone else
out there who has the default rpm configs tries to build it, it will
fail and this will become an even bigger FAQ than it already is.

If you want to override it, override it in your spec file and make damn
sure that anybody who inherits that rpm gets the srpm. I don't think
it's the way to do it though. Just rm the files that need to be
excluded (the best example I have seen of this is the /etc/mime.types
file while building mutt needs to be excluded because /etc/mime.types is
provided by a different package).

Blue skies... Todd
