one other idea, is that we may put every config file in cvs. when we upgrade a package => cvs commit. something goes wrong, go back to a previous version with cvs. and, integrated with the mandrake tools, it would be very very nice. just change the config, mess everything, and go back. of course, there will be a problem for people not using mcc, but we can always tell them to do a cvs commit, or, do it in ~root/.bash_logout .... this may not seems a great benefit for the end user, but, Windows is doing the same, except it is called 'registry backup'. and far less powerful... with a cvs modules for mandrake, and then, a module for each package, people can update without problem. what do you think about it ?
