1) cupsd default configuration make it broadcast all know printers on local network. While potentially useful, i think this kind of feature should be only turned on explicitely by people knowing what they do. So please make it disabled in default configuration.
2) cupsd default configuration allow administration with web interface from localhost only, which makes http://localhost:631/admin works. But as soon as one link make your URL translated to http://yourrealname:631/admin, it doesn't work anymore 3) installation of a new printer via web interface doesn't provide the same drivers as when using printerdrake. I guess that printerdrake brings some added-value with additional drivers, but maybe cups could be patched to provide the same list of drivers 4) printerdrake triggers installation of many packages: foomatic, printer-utils, printer-filters, gimpprint and libijs0. Are they really necesseary if i just want to configure cups, which only requires cups-common libcups and printer-test ? -- If a program actually fits in memory and has enough disk space, it is guaranteed to crash. -- Murphy's Computer Laws n5
