Btw If I can't get proper DirectFB display the Nexus DVB-s has its own YC SVideo and Composite PAL/NTSC Output signal I can plug directly to a TV set. This in fact garantee proproper syngle filed synking but this way I lost the possibility of usig the computer for other purposes like gaming or web browsing. Some video switch may help but I don't like the idea.Havee found nice integrated motherboard and destop box from MSI. Graphic chip, network card, IR interface, audio on one motherboard all linux compatible. 1 or 2 pci slot suitable for the Nexus DVB-S card.
Just make sure the graphics card can do interlaced TV output with vsync interrupting, and that you are not forced to use X11 to use it. b.
Another thing missing computer video output is the ability to plug an RGB signal to the TV.
Here in Europe TV have SCART connectors with analog RGB lines like computer display.
My regular Digital SAT Reciever display to my TV vie these lines. This avoid signal loss and image quality loss imposed by PAL our YC encodings.
None of the video cards that are able to display on TV have the RGB signals availables on the video connector.
Some hack are published sometimes to pick these signals directly on the card and wire it to a SCART connector but this is dirty hack.
Sn my Mandrake PVR box may be unable to produce equal image quality as a regular digital SAT reciever. Hope I'll find the Haupauge DVB-s hack to wire RGB signals to a SCART.
