I agree with that methodology as well, however, there were many on the list who stated this was not the case and not the position of Mandrake on the issue.

True, however Mandrake has traditionally used beta releases if the bug
fixes are more important than the potential instability.

In other words, there is no sense in upgrading just because there is a
new release.  However, if the current version is broken and
semi-unusable... why not?
