Printing from a Windows 98 PC to a CUPS printer (an Epson C80), stopped working
just recently.
When I attempt the operation, nothing happens and the /var/log/cups/error_log
file contains the following:

I am unable to find where is the 'get_printer_attrs', 'get_jobs', or the
'/printers/pdf-generator' mentioned in the CUPS log.
Recent administration: upgrade of both cups (printer-utils, printer-filters,
etc) and Samba (samba-swat, samba-server, damba-common, etc), per security
advisories.

Printing from within other Linux hosts in the network, or from the machine to
which the printer is attached, works normally.

It could be this bug has to do with some internal problem in Samba. The giveaway
words here are "resource" and "pdf-generator".
If that was true, then the failure scenario that creates the errors reported
could evolve like this
1. Function get_printer_attrs() fails to find the attributes for original
printer I requested (probably something to do with the pathname. Not finding a
printer, the pdf-generator is used as a fallback.
2. Function get_jobs() is failing in a similar manner.
