Hmmm, I wonder if the ifplugd support may not end up triggering quite a bit of work in this area. For example, if you have samba running on a laptop, and any of your networks supply WINS addresses by DHCP, then you would want samba to read the WINS address from the dhcp client (there were patches around for this), which would probably require at least a HUP to nmbd. I could imagine similar things for other services for which dhcp options exist. And I think apache at least, probably also postgres and mysql would need to get HUP'ed. Will this patch be applied, and can packagers start on scripts like this? Then all we need is support for "Auto-configuratin address" ;-).
