------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-01-25 05:48 -------
1.I have a Samsung 148c CD Drive. The drive reads the data CD's, as well as
Audio CD's. However when attempting to play an audio CD I do not get any
sound, though it is reading the disk.
2.I have a SoundBlaster Live! soundcard which is detected. I know that it is
recognized and works from using different sound schemes when applying
different themes because I can hear it.
3.This issue is specifically related to me not being able to hear the Audio
CD playing on my system, but having no other issues with sound.
4.In addition, when inserting a CD, it locks my drive preventing me from
ejecting the CD manually. I have only been able to eject the CD by right
clicking on the desktop CD drive icon.
This may be pure ignorance on my behalf. Please forgive me if it is so. I am
as new as new can be when it comes to Linux.
Finally, I think that these issues should not exist, and that by default they
should be set up properly for the less knowledgeable curios Linux user.
As a result, this will make the product more user friendly, and will surely
attract increased sales.

description:
I have Manrake 9.0 installed. I have a Sony cd/rw and a Sony dvd player.

I have an internal sound system using Soyo Dragon Pentium motherboard. Both
players are connected to "internal" sound source connections. When I boot the
system and login. The welcome sound-track play's successfully, which leads me
to beleive that the sound system is configured and working.

Both cd drives are functional as far as accessing data cd's on the drives.
But when I insert a Sound CD, and launch the cd player, I can not get it
to recognize the cd in the drive. I cant get it to eject and/or move from one
track to another... ect. Neither of the cd drives work......

I have reported this problem before during the beta testing.

This is the only major problem I have encountered thus far..
And sad-to say for me it is a show-stopper.....

Id love to pluck done my money for a boxed set, but not untill this bug is
fixed.....
