Why not have jackd start as an init script, and set the perms on the
fifo afterwards? Or does jackd not drop root privs?

BTW, I see we need a new release of libjack-devel for qjackconnect, but
0.34 is current stable, and the jack devs don't seem to like
1)releasing often
2)tagging cvs

So, I don't know where thac got 0.44, since I have seen no such version
anywhere ....
