I disabled the sata interface with a jumper and boot with acpi=off. Afterwards, the setup continues on. I never went through the whole setup b/c I was unsure what problems this "no response" thing might cause for the setup. I have 2 hard disks in my machine. I am running an athlon xp 2100 cpu, asus a7n8x motherboard with the geforce2 chipset. 512MB RAM. Both hard disks are 80GB.
