Surely a user problem.

I have the same mobo and it works fine with two hd. I disabled the sata
interface with a jumper and boot with acpi=off.

When running setup, the screen where it attempts to detect the hardware devices
on the system... it detects both of my cd-roms OK, but when it goes to check my
hard drives, it displays on the screen:

hde = no response
hdf = no response

It looked something similar to that. Afterwards, the setup continues on. I
never went through the whole setup b/c I was unsure what problems this "no
response" thing might cause for the setup.

I have 2 hard disks in my machine. I am running an athlon xp 2100 cpu, asus
a7n8x motherboard with the geforce2 chipset. 512MB RAM. Both hard disks are
80GB.
