------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-02-10 06:32 ------- Well, I think the main problem is either with g-t-m adding monitors too quickly or gnome-vfs not buffering requests. I think the later is the better all around fix, since gnome-keybinding-properties is also affected. I'm going to try to add a fifo queue to gnome-vfs, probably just a GLib singly-linked list. However, I'm not sure of a good way to poll if it's okay to actually add make a FAM request. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: NEW creation_date: description: Even after confirming portmap/xinetd aren't blocked, it's still a no-go for g-t-m. I suspect this has something to do with fam, since if I stopped xinetd (thus stopping fam), g-t-m starts perfectly (with tons of FAMOpen error mesg). strace log is attached. It just hangs there when doing the last write(), until I interrupt it with Ctrl-C. Sounds like it was trying to write to a non-operational socket. At this point, the connection to fam/portmap was already terminated (according to the output of netstat).
