Confirmed bug by the XFree86 Developers. There is a patch, however it has not
been applied to 4.3.0 and probably won't be until a later 4.3.

Comment from the developers:

This is a known driver problem. A patch has been submitted a couple of
months ago for the related problems, but due to the size of the patch and
4.3 release is too close, it hasn't been merged into CVS tree. Meanwhile you
can try the same patch for DRI tree
(http://penguinppc.org/~daenzer/DRI/radeon-ddc.diff) or wait a little longer
for a 4.3 patch.

Hardware is a ATI Radeon All-In-Wonder 8500DV (64M), Dell 2000FP. During
Install and running drakxconf the monitor is correctly detected as a dell2000FP.
The default resolution as set in the install is 1600x1200 which is the monitors
rated resolution.

When X is started the monitor ( connected DVI ) reports 1280x1024 at 75hz. I
select generic flat panel at 1600x1200 and restart X the display resolution
remains the same. (the monitor is rated at 1600x1200 @ 60hz).

(With 9.0 the display is set to the right resolution, but lot's of video noise,
The only way to get a usable display in 9.0 is to use the ATI driver In 9.0 the
resolution as reported by the monitor is 1542x1200).
