The problem remains with Mandrake 9.1 RC1. 
I tried the latest Gatos drivers and now it works.

As a result, I cannot run xawtv and/or avview. Both of these apps run perfectly in 
ML9.0 
with the same hardware. I have checked Changelog to see if anything has been 
disabled but no joy. I would be happy to supply any other info.
