When I put a mandrake CD in it displays the page asking me "<F!> for more options and <ENTER> to install or upgrade" If I hit enter my screen will go black and freeze. I've tried <F1> and many different kernel options ... with the 2.4 kernels nothing works I still get a freeze. Using a 2.2 kernel allows me to proceed, I can install a base system but then the 2.4 kernels that come with the system will not start my system up. I have gotten this system to work with 2.4 kernels, I just had to build it myself... this is very difficult when you don't have a rescue CD or anything that can boot the machine. I had the same problem with Mandrake 9.0. I'll refer you to a post discussing the problem on the toshiba-linux support list: http://linux.toshiba-dme.co.jp/ML/tlinux-users/3100/3114.html
