You might like to try fontconfig-2.1-7mdk.i586.rpm, I installed it today and since
then have been
unable to reproduce the problem. I got it from:

ftp://fr2.rpmfind.net/linux/Mandrake-devel/cooker/i586/Mandrake/RPMS/fontconfig-2.1-7mdk.i586.rpm

If you can't do that, then this is the process by which I worked out which of my fonts
were
dodgy... from a shell (as root), do:

  export FC_DEBUG=2
  drakfont | grep ttf

(if you do this without the grep it gives a *lot* of debug output). Take the last font
mentioned
before drakfont bombs and delete it, or move it out of the way. Then repeat the
process.

I'm not sure if its something I installed, or what, but DrakFont as well as the entire
Control Center ran fine until earlier this afternoon when I tried to use it and it
didn't load,
so I ran it from the command line to get this:
No fonts found; this probably means that the fontconfig
library is not correctly configured. You may need to
edit the fonts.conf configuration file. More information
about fontconfig can be found in the fontconfig(3) manual
page and on http://fontconfig.org

I first tried the control center, drakconf, to get that, so then I figured I'd try
drakfont, to
get the same results. I browsed the fonts.conf file but nothing seems wrong, so I'm
not
sure what happened.
