Sorry, but I do not see a localhost.localdomain. I don't have any other unix to check on available at the moment, but AFAIK, localhost.localdomain was thought up by Redhat.
IIRC it was introduced to fix a broken sendmail at the time (that needed both a hostname and a domain).
