Product: Installation
Component: Installation
Summary: Zeroconf is destroying working network connections
Version: 1.799
Platform: PC
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: critical
Priority: P2
AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I have both created a configuration from ProSuite9.0 + cooker updates, and cut a
set myself of 9.1 rc 1
The network comes up fine until it is updated. That's when zeroconf is
introduced, apparently. It makes the network inoperable (ie connectivity is lost).
The configuration now reports 'insmod'ing module e100 failed at
/usr/lib/libDrakX/modules.pm line 61.
If I continue, I am informed the system cannot resolve host when downloading
zcip-4-2.
That is no surprise mecause there is no working network.
Is there someway I can ignore this feature and return the network to service?
Mandrake Control Centre and LinuxConf say the 'correct' things but do nothing to
get things working. netstat -nr looks OK. ifconfig -a shows only 1 ip number
being assigned to 1 nic card whereas there are 4 on the server.
Am I being <forced> to use dhcp on the lan now??????
