You're right, on the balance. I've been trying to pin it down, and it seems
slippery.

I have an SMB share in my home with the same name as my user home (my private
directory on our file server). The problem starts at odd times, then doesn't go
away until I play with the Gnome XML settings files related to the desktop.

The weird thing is, I can resolve it by logging out of Gnome, renaming a couple
of files, loggin back in. The files are recreated. Logging out, deleting those,
restoring the old ones' names, logging back in ... and the problem stays gone!
Very odd, and mpst likely something wrong with something deep down in Gnome.

The only clue I have is that I sometimes unplug the network cable before
remembering unmount the share. I haven't been able to do enough regression, so
I can't give a firm answer.

Sorry for this weird bug. I'm going to keep looking into it, but in the
meantime I'm going to close it as "works for me" because I don't want to waste
your time on such a minor thing. I'll reopen it only if I have something
conclusive.

Sorry about the dup; I'd have reopened bug #1331 if possible.
