I'm with ya man.
I added VTK to contribs about a month ago. It's far from perfect (both the program and the RPM), but a step in the right direction. I'm pretty sure it would compile on ia64.
Mmmm, reminds me of the CSI episode where they digitally fit a dead guy's ear plug into his ear post mortem using 3D computer imaging in order to prove his identity.
