i *do* understand that, you see ...

did you do a clean install or did you keep your old /etc, which would
just have been updated then (neither draks nor draksound will remove
any sound-slot-X alias for now)

yes i do know, i follow kernel and alsa development for quite some
years and i'm draksound author but i do not know anything about sound
