------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-05 17:06 ------- This bug is not invalid. No matter what you enter in the dhcp hostname, hostname and zeronconf hostname, the machine will use the hostname assigned by the dhcp client. drakconnect is not setting the config file for dhclient properly or something. Please test this and you wil see. I have, exhaustively, and this cannot be done. I should be able to override the dhcp assigned hostname through the configuration. I can do it in windows, I can do it in previous versions of Mandrake, I can do it in other distros, I can do it in OSX. This is not desired behavior. ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------- Reminder: ------- assigned_to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] status: RESOLVED creation_date: description: Hi *, drakconnect displays the hostname on it's initial screen but offers no possibility to change it. >From the wizard, a hostname may be chosen, but that is added as DHCP hostname delivered for that interface to a dhcp server (added in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-*). This is actually correct behavior, since this is considered to be the interface name. But the hostname should be changeable as well, probably on the main screen with a button close to the place where the hostname is displayed. Maybe the interface name in the wizard should default to the hostname. Regards, Joachim
