I am pretty much green here, but I have to agree - let's push the release date
few days. There are bugs, which are pretty bad/annoying and will earn pretty
bad image to Mandrake.

I am running upgraded machine from 9.0 to Cooker, with daily updates, but
still :

- - annoying message about kfm_client pops up from time to time, when trying to
open directories on desktop, konqueror hangs if it is trying to mount
something (e.g. a floppy). I worked the hangs around by switching to
supermount, but the bug is still very annoying.

- - when previews are enabled, icons are changing positions all the time - you
have to "Align to grid" *twice* to get them aligned and any change (e.g.
emptying the Trash) changes the positions again. I had to switch the previews
off, to get a clean-looking desktop :-( Same problem occurs in inside folders
from time to time (e.g. when copying files)

- - kpilot is broken, at least the mail conduit. This was reported from several
distros (I know about the same prob. in Suse), but the stock KDE version
works.

- - missing kdeartworks - since I am running Cooker, this does not manifest
itself on my machine, but I agree with others, that this has to be addressed.

- - default Galaxy theme makes Konqueror unusable for browsing. I like the
theme, but when it breaks forms, it is a showstopper for me.

- - issues with the Nvidia cards with XFree and Nvidia drivers - contrary to the
reports of others, I had problems with the proprietary drivers, started to
happen only after upgrade to Cooker, wasn't broken with the same drivers in
9.0.

All of these issues are reported in Bugzilla already, some of them for a long
time.

These are just few small things, which make my daily life a bit more miserable
- - I am using the Cooker on my production workstation (I know, bad idea), I
could always work the problem around somehow and I am glad for having a great
desktop (big thanks to everybody involved), but still majority of the
Mandrake users are probably not people using Linux for 8 years and Unix for
more then 10 and able to negotiate gdb and gcc as me.
