Vox... I reported it as bug 1801 a few weeks ago. Several attempts at fixes have been made, but as of RC2 it's still broke. Badly.
MDK 9.0 was really weird. It would boot off the CD, then when it detected the IDE controllers, it would suddenly lose the CD-ROM drives completely and decide that they didn't exist. I could no longer continue the install unless I did it over the network or whatever. That's still kinda useless though, since no CD-ROM drives would work in 9.0 even after you booted into it. 9.1 just plain doesn't see any hard drives and gives up in the install before I get anywhere. RH 8.0 - everything works fine. I really don't like RH's other quirks, and I'm still too green on Linux to unravel things myself. I just know when something doesn't work... And Mandrake with PDC20276... Don't work. --Alexander > -----Original Message----- > From: Vox [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Wednesday, March 05, 2003 8:47 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: [Cooker] Mandrake 9.1 Should be Delayed > > > And I just found this out the hard way too :/ I got a new box last > night, with a PDC20276 and...2.4.21 doesn't want to work there :/ > > The strange thing is...2.4.19-16mdk works perfectly fine with it > (well...the alsa drivers for the sound of this mboard suck...but > that's a different matter). > > If somebody can shine a light on this problem, I'd be more than > happy > > Vox
