kio_lan works fine here, I can easily get to any ftp,http or fish (ssh) servers
in my lan.
kio_smb works partially for me, I can browse machines (ie see shares), but
cannot browse inside the shares.
This bug is noted in KDE bugzilla (easy search).

Hi, I was testing various features, and I thought I'd try giving LAN browsing a
spin. Unfortunately, whenver I try in 9.1, I get the message saying "unable to
launch kio_smb."
