------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-07 16:53 -------
OK, that report of it working was from my cooker box which runs:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] bgmilne]$ rpm -q lisa
lisa-3.1-22mdk

My rc2 installation on my laptop:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] bgmilne]$ rpm -q lisa
lisa-3.1-24mdk

It does not work on (at least lan://localhost/server

But, the rest seem to work, at least ftp://, fish://, smb:// and http://

smb:// however only lists shares, not contents of shares. But I do not get a
"Cannot launch kio_smb" error. Do you have the "samba-client" package installed?
I don't know if it is practical to have a requires, since kio_smb is in kdebase,
and samba-client (and samba-common which it requires) should not be required by
kdebase (poeple would file a bug there too). Ideally kio_smb should be split
off, and installed if "network client" and "KDE desktop" are both chosen.

I am not going to confirm this until we decide what bug this is ...

Hi, I was testing various features, and I thought I'd try giving LAN browsing a
spin. Unfortunately, whenver I try in 9.1, I get the message saying "unable to
launch kio_smb."
