------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-03-06 15:18 -------
When I tested it on beta3, OOo crashed upon loading the Albany font, which comes
with StarOffice 6.

When I edited the ooffice script (beta3 still) to call the setup script without
-R:$SetupConfig, or if I manually ran /usr/lib/openoffice/program/setup then the
setup ran up until selecting the supported JDK, after that it crashes as well.

In RC2 I've also tried rebuilding freetype2 from source rpm and reinstalling it
but OOo still crashes with 'Installation of OpenOffice.org 1.0.2 failed.'

For the record: I'm using the nl locale.

description:
New install of 9.1 rc2. Openoffice starts and functions, but if you try to access
fonts (for example, by using the drop down font list on the toolbar) the program
crashes (just disappears). If started in a konsole, oowriter just give a
"segmentation fault" error message ... This is probably related to bug 1492 but
does not seem quite the same.

NOTE: this goes away if the libfreetype.so.6.3.2 that ships with rc2 is replaced
with David Chester's custom libfreetype (http://www.cs.mcgill.ca/~dchest/xfthack/).

It looks like there might be a conflict between mandrake's current freetype and
openoffice!
