I think Mandrake could do itself a big favor by just sticking to the standard definitions of these things. Generally a release candidate is a distro (or software) that has all of its features stablized and potentially *could* be the release. RC1 especially, but even RC2, are not that type of release. For example the KDE RC's are usually quite stable, and the last RC is generally almost identical to final just because the last RC is the last RC because no more major issues have been found.
