I have been running rc1 since I got hold of it (about 2 days after
release) on my laptop, and there were very few issues, no show-stoppers
(ie nothing worked significantly worse than any previous stable
release). I will be installing rc2 tonight (as I have some features to
test that were not enabled in the rc1 installer).

With the obvious reluctance of people to test betas, there is simply no
other way to get wide hardware testing it seems.
