I've noticed the same problem here with KDE is why... but when I switch to iceWM it worked... I've had the same trouble with both the MDK version and the stock version from tightvnc. I've been having other troubles with KDE and qt3 myself and there are some open related bugs ..Try another wm and see if it starts to work right. james
