Apple Bars

1/2c butter melted
1c white sugar
1 egg
1c all-purpose flour
1/2t baking soda
1t ground cinnamon
1c apple cored and finely chopped
1c chopped walnuts

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 8 x 8 baking pan

2. Mix melted butter with sugar and egg. Mix in flour, baking soda and 
cinnamon, then stir in apples and walnuts.

3. Bake for approximately 40 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center 
comes out clean.

These are rich, so cut into small squares.
The dough is very heavy, stirring in the apples and walnuts takes muscle, but 
do your best to get them distributed throughout.
