Shortening should have an expiration date on it. It's probably good though if it's really only been a few months.

Subject: [CnD] Shortening Question

Hi,

I was wondering if any of you know how long shortening is good for? I have some in the cupboard, I think it's been sitting there for about 6 months. Would it be safe to use it?
