When I cook rice, I cook it in a double boiler and start it out over boiling water. Place the rice and two and a quarter times the amount of water as rice in the top of the double boiler. Add a little white vinegar, maybe a teaspoonful. When the water in the bottom of the double boiler is boiling, turn it down and place the top of the double boiler containing the rice, water, and vinegar on top. Stir to make sure the rice is spread out over the pan. Cover and don't look for 20 minutes. In 20 minutes, remove the lid and stir with fork and you'll have perfect rice. Remember to turn the bottom pan of water down to a simmer befor adding the top of the boiler.

wouldn't butter work too? I just keep stering the rice and it doesn't stick
but they have this spray stuff that you can spray in the water and it will
prevent stuff from sticking but not sure if it's still around or if I'm even
thinking of the same thing.

Also don't boil to fast.  Rice will come out fine even when boiled slowly.
