One reason I like cooking spaghetti is that it's quick and easy. I brown and drain lean ground beef, sometimes with mushrooms and onions. Then I add a jar of prepared sauce such as Newman's own. Meanwhile I cook the spaghetti, as they say, according to package directions. I use the spaghetti, drained but not rinsed, I'm going to eat. I add the sauce on top and then sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese. I store the leftovers, spaghetti and sauce mixed together, in a Tupperware container in the refrigerator. I usually reheat in a microwave or pot. Usually, I have to add a little water or extra sauce.
using a crock pot doesn't improve on this. It just takes longer. If you make the sauce from scratch, a crock pot would be great. Hi, Have any of you made spaghetti in the crockpot? I was thinking about doing this, and this is what I plan to do. Brown the meat, in the crockpot, on the slow setting, for 5 to 6 hours, add the sauce during the last hour and make noodles, during last half hour of cooking time, over the stove. Does this sound reasonable? Thanks.
