Well, I always put the onions in mine, but if your son won't eat them, then try a bit of onion powder.

Subject: [CnD] Fw: Mac & Cheese?

Hi All,

I made this yesterday, but it was a little bland?
Any ideas on how to give it more flavor?
Didn't use the onion, as I didn't think my son would eat it!

Here is the recipe for Mac & Cheese!

6 ounces elbow macaroni (1 & 1/2 cup)
3 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup finely chopped onion (optional)
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
dash pepper
2 cups milk
2 cups cubed or shredded chedder cheese

Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain. For cheese sauce, in a suacepan melt butter. Cook onion in butter till tender but not brown. Stir in the flour, salt and pepper. Add milk all at once; cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 1 to 2 minutes more. Add cubed cheese; stir till melted.

Stir macaroni into cheese sauce. Turn into a 1&1/2 quart casserole. Bake ina a 350 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes or till heated through.
