Speaking of Dawn Dish Detergent, did you all know that if you mix a tablespoon or so of this detergent in a basin of water and pour it slowly on icy steps or on a driveway/walkway, the ice will melt.

Apparently, this will keep the ice from forming for some time.

Did you try using Dawn dish detergent? That's what they use to clean oil-soaked birds and other animals.
