White Cake 1/3 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar 1-1/2 cups cake flour 2tsp baking powder 1/4tsp salt 1/2 cup milk 3/4tsp almond extract 3 egg whites cream shortening and sugar sift together flour, baking powder and salt add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. add almond extract beat egg whites stiff; fold in. pour into 2 greased 8-inch round pans bake in moderately hot oven dg375 25 minutes cool five minutes remove from pan to wire rack
