This makes a great brunch with pre-cooked sausages warmed in the microwave
and a vegetable tray.

FRENCH TOAST WITH CINNAMON apple topping



Ingrediants:

4 eggs

1 cup milk

3 Tablespoons sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

8 slices day-old French bread, cut thick

3 Tablespoons melted butter



Preheat oven to 375 degrees

whisk eggs with milk, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon in shallow bowl. Dip bread

into mixture, coating both sides, allowing bread to soak up  mixture.

spray or lightly butter cookie sheet.

Place bread in single layer on cookie sheets

Bake for 12 minutes. Turn bread over, bake another 12 minutes or until brown
and

puffy.



 You can use any thick sliced bread.  Just be sure it is not fresh baked the

older bread seems to work better just like in bread puddings.



Topping:



2 Tablespoons butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup water

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

3 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced thin

Directions:

Melt butter and add sugar in saucepan.

Cook until melted and sugar is mostly dissolved.

Add water, cinnamon, and apples.

Cook on low heat for 8 to 10 minutes, until apples are tender.  Stir

occasionally.



To serve:

arrange toast on plate,top with sauce.
