HAM AND CHEESE CASSEROLE

4 tbsp. butter
1 chopped onion
2-2 1/2 c. chopped ham (can use ham ends from the deli or leftover ham from a baked ham)
1 can cream of mushroom soup
3/4 c. milk to 1 c. milk
1 block piece of extra sharp cheese (I use Waldbaum's in the dairy case kind), grated
1 lb. cooked macaroni (#22 shells are the best)

Saute onions and ham in butter and brown. Add soup and milk. Mix well. Add cheese and stir. Save some cheese for the top. Pour into a well buttered 4 quart casserole top with remaining cheese and sprinkle with bread crumbs and dots of butter. Bake in 375 degree oven for 30-40 minutes.

The kids will love this one. Serve with a salad and Italian bread and you have a meal everyone will love. Enjoy.
