No. It doesn't have any wax. You use it when cooking things like meat loaf or lentil loaf to avoid the food sticking to the pan. It doesn't absorb liquid and doesn't get into the food like wax paper would. Sometimes butchers use it to wrap meat. It's available in many grocery stores.
