I got an "egg ring" from maxi aids a few years ago.  It works to keep
the perfect circle shape of an egg, but still  you have the issue of
flipping the thing.  And it's hard enough to try to flip the egg, whith
the metal ring sliding around, makes it even harder.  The bread sounds
like a much better idea.
