Hi Sharon, You can taste it, but the lemon and spice mixture do compliment it. It's not quite as authentic, but you could turn the marinade into a rub by substituting olive oil.

I love curry but hate yogurt. How much do you taste the yogurt in this recipe? Hi there, Haven't been following this thread much, so apologies if I'm duplicating. I like spicy food so I make up a Tandoori marinade when I'm doing chicken thighs or drumsticks. Afraid I don't measure my spices, I'm used to doing it, and sometimes I want it spicy and sometimes mild. Anyway here goes: get some Yoghurt, lemon juice (or malt vinegar), garlic, root ginger, Ground Cumin, Coriander seeds, Cardomum, and cloves. Put the yoghurt in a bowl, and add in the lemon juice. Grind up the spices, grate the root ginger and mince the garlic and add to the yoghurt and lemon juice mixture. Now take the chicken pieces and using a sharp knife, cut little slits in the flesh. Don't cut all the way through, but this will help the marinade permeate the meat. Put the chicken in a shallow non-reactive bowl, and pour the marinade over them. I usually leave them overnight, but a couple of hours is enough if you're in a hurry. Then, just cook the chicken thighs or drumsticks in whatever way you like; in the oven, on a barbecue etc. You can serve with a salid of Cucumber, tomatoes and fresh coriander (I think Americans refer to this as Celantro). Again sorry the ingredient measurements aren't precise but hope this helps someone. Do not cover and the skin will be crisp and easy to remove if you prefer not to eat it. You could use any type of seasoning, but the lemon pepper and garlic works for us. So, just oven bake them in an uncovered pan or dish. I always line the bottom with foil, as well. Hope this helps. I like simple, and this is. BTW, sometimes I throw a couple of small potatoes in the pan and they cook up nicely right along with the chicken. >>> ----- Original Message ----- From: "Claudia" <[email protected]> >>> To: <[email protected]>; <[email protected]>; <[email protected]> >>> Sent: Sunday, March 06, 2011 2:08 PM >>> Subject: [CnD] Fw: Chicken Drumsticks? >>> >>> >>>> Hi, >>>> >>>> I need ideas for cooking drumsticks? >>>> Thanks.
