Banana Cake With Sour Cream

 

½ cup butter

1 and ½ cups sugar

1 cup mashed ripe bananas

2 eggs, slightly beaten

1 and ¾ cups sifted cake flour

1 Tsp. Baking powder

1 Tsp. Baking soda

¼ Tsp. Salt

4 Tbsp. commercial sour cream

1 cup chopped walnuts

 

Method

 

1. Cream butter and sugar.

2. Add bananas and eggs.

3. Sift dry ingredients together.

4. Measure out ¼ cup of dry ingredients and use it to flour nuts.

5. Add remainder alternately with sour cream to the banana mixture in 5 
additions, beginning and ending with the dry mixture.

6. Fold in nuts.

7. Grease the bottom of a 9 inch spring-form pan.

8. Pour in batter.

9. Bake 50 minutes at 375 degrees.

10. Do not open oven door.

11. Remove from oven, cool, and spread with orange icing.
